Professional background Amedeo’s last position in an international corporate was as EAME Human Resources Director in Switzerland for Cardinal Health (HQ in Dublin OH and S. Diego CA, USA), the world’s leading products and services company supporting the healthcare industry. He was HR Business Partner for the BU Clinical Technologies and Services and in charge of the geographical integration of the new acquired BUs as well as of the setting for the new International Headquarters in Switzerland.
Prior to Cardinal Health, Amedeo spent over 4 years at Medtronic (HQ in Minneapolis, MN, USA) the world’s leading medical technology company as International HR Business Partner for several Business Units – Neurological, Gastro-Uro, Diabetes, Spinal – and for the Legal, Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs functions. Based in Switzerland, he significantly contributed to the international growth of the company through the integration of the BU Spinal, the recruitment and selection of high international talents and their integration in the Talent Review, Development and Succession Plan as well as with the implementation of the company’s new manager assimilation process for VPs and Directors.
Between 1998 and 2002, Amedeo was in the ranks of ‘Nextrom Services’ (NOKIA Group) in Lausanne and Helsinki. He started out as HR Director in charge of the integration of newly acquired companies in Canada, USA, China, Italy and of the new HR strategy focus implementation from industrial company to global solution provider. After his promotion to Vice-President HR, Amedeo contributed as Member of the Executive Management Team to the design of the new corporate strategy and was also in charge of the creation of a new Corporate Culture. Furthermore, he managed the HR department for worldwide operations. He rounded up his career at ‘Nextrom Services’ in the position of Managing Director of the Plastic Division in Milan where he was mainly responsible for the company’s Divestment and Voluntary Liquidation Strategy Design and Implementation.
In 1997, EM Microelectronic, Marin, Switzerland (Swatch Group)’ hired Amedeo as HR Manager for Switzerland and the U.S.
Education and qualifications Amedeo holds a Bachelor of Political Sciences (University of Naples, Italy – Majors: Economics and Sociology) a Master in Human Resources Management (IFOR “L. Bocconi” University of Milan, Italy) and a Diploma in Clinical Organizational Psychology (INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France). Furthermore, he participated in several Management and Leadership programs at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France and at London Business School, London, UK. Amedeo is a Certified Coach (International Coach Federation).
Personal Amedeo Decoro is of Italian and Swiss nationalities and is currently living in Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds his workshops in English, French, Italian and German.
