Biography

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

Currently I am working as an AIO at Faculty of Management and Organization, University of Groningen, Netherlands. My research project is How to control capacity-oriented production under Make-to-Order and Make-to-Stock: the case of food processing industries.

Earlier I did M. Tech. in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research at IIT Bombay, India (1995-97) and B.E. in Production Stream (1990-1994) at V.J.T.I. Bombay. I have also undergone QAD Inc.'s MFG/PRO training, the Enterprise Resource Planning course.

I have worked as Research Scholar and Research Associate in the area of 'Intelligent Management of Virtual Manufacturing Systems' at School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay; as an Associate Consultant in the Retail Banking Product Group of Citicorp Information Technology Industries Limited (now known as i-flex Solutions), Mumbai; and as a GTE with Engine valves division of Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Pune.

In independent capacity, I have tried to do an in-depth analysis of managing supply chain for the outsourced casting components in a multi-layered vendor system for a leading automobile assembler in India. I have also initiated SPC activities at a medium sized hermetic motors manufacturing company in Mumbai.

My Current Areas of Interest are - Advanced planning & Scheduling in process industries, Analysis of Food Processing Manufacturing Systems, Operations Management in Small Scale industries, Management of Virtual Enterprises
