Dr. Xiao is Associate Professor at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He obtained his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering Mechanics from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. His expertise is in fatigue and fracture failure mechanics, Micromechanics and Reliability of Materials and Structures, Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Micro Electronics Devices, Design and Fabrication of MEMS (Mechanical-Electronic Micro Systems). He is an associate editor for the International Journal of Microelectonics and Electronic Packaging. At NTU he teaches subjects on Failure Analysis and Prevention, Mechanical Properties of Advanced Materials, etc. He has published extensively is well-known international Journal of Fracture, Engineering Fracture Mechanics, International Journal of Solids and Structures.
