Dr. Youqing Fan is a Senior Lecturer and a Chief Investigator of an ARC Linkage Project on how volunteering can be better managed to become more accessible to CaLD elderly in Australia ($331,000) and a School funded PRI project ($75,000).

He is an Associate Editor for Employee Relations (Scopus Q1) and an inaugural Associate Editor for Journal of Tropical Futures. He is a guest editor for Journal of Business Research, Behavioral Sciences, Frontiers in Public Health. Youqing is the recipient of the 2023 Citation for Research Award.

Dr Fan teaches and researches firm management practices and sustainability. Particularly, Dr Fan is interested in examining sustainable management, particularly how the environmental, social and governance aspects of sustainability are linked and intertwined within organizational management context.

Dr Fan has published 17 papers in ABDC A or A or Scopus Q1 journals. His works were published in leading journals in business and management such as Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Business Strategy and Environment, Transportation Research Part E, Journal of Environmental Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Habitat International, Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Management, Cross-Cultural and Strategic Management, Journal of Global Information Management, Chinese Management Studies, Asia Pacific Business Review, Asian Business & Management, Frontiers in Public Health etc.

He is also a regular reviewer for major management journals and conferences including Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Academy of Management Annual Conference, International Journal of Production Research, Information and Management, Sustainable Development, Economic and Labour Relations Review etc.

Dr Fan's research findings have generated social impacts beyond academia. His viewpoints appear in independent academic media outlets such as TheConversation.com and The Fifth Estate, and mainstream media outlets such as ABC News, Sydney Morning Herald etc.

Dr Fan has successfully led a major research project to completion, which is the School of Business Priority Research Initiative Project on urban employment and housing segregation. Dr Fan has also been involved in international collaborative research projects investigating the anti-poverty strategy and migrant health inequalities in the global south.

Dr Fan has successfully supervised 3 PhD students to completion. As of March 2023, He has published 3 ABDC A or Scimago Q1 journal papers with PhD students. He warmly welcomes enquiries from prospective PhD students who work on below topics:
