Tanya Chavez

As an executive coach, Tanya partners with her clients to design a leadership practice tailored to fit them. Leadership looks different on everyone but the one common thread effective leaders have is authenticity. She helps her clients uncover their unique leadership style to amplify their impact.

Tanya brings a diverse toolkit and perspective from over 20 years of coaching, practicing, and studying leadership to compliment her clients’ expertise and background. She is an assistant lecturer for Leadership Communications at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business where she creates a space for MBA students to try on different communication techniques to level up their presentation, feedback, and storytelling skills. Tanya also spent ten years leading sales & operations planning, demand, supply chain, and software implementation initiatives for E&J Gallo Winery’s international business unit and G3 Enterprises, a leading supplier and service provider to the beverage and agriculture industry. Prior to her career in business, Tanya had the privilege of serving as a U.S. Air Force intelligence officer in Japan, Qatar, and all over the U.S.

Born and raised in Seoul, Korea and growing up in a multicultural home ignited a passion in Tanya to build high performing teams with people from diverse backgrounds. She has seen firsthand how diversity of thought builds strength in organizations and in individuals. She believes that a leader’s responsibility is to create an environment where people can bring their full selves to work in order to maximize each person’s potential which in turn generates the most creative solutions.

Tanya has an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and a BS in Behavioral Science from the United States Air Force Academy where she also served as a parachute instructor and was a competitive skydiver.

When she's not working, you'll find Tanya out on the ski slopes; spending time with her husband, two boys, and dog; or planning her next travel adventure.
