Shounak Chowdhury

I started my professional career as an engineer with Tata Motors (formerly Tata Engineering), in 2002, but found my calling in Strategic Management. So, in 2002, I joined the Fellow Program in Management at IIM Ahmedabad and worked in the area of 'Strategic Innovation'. Upon completing my dissertation, I joined O.P. Jindal Global University as a founding faculty and undertook various institution building efforts. During this time, I realized the need for bridging the employability-employment divide that plagued the country. So, in 2016, I quit my full time academic career and founded Banyan Edu Services to bridge the divide, through skilling and entrepreneurship development. In a short span of time, Banyan Edu Services, has evolved into an end-to-end consulting solutions provider in the areas of organization capacity building, skilling and entrepreneurship. Our clients include social sector organizations like Central Tibetan Administration (Tibetan Government in Exile), Industry Partners like Air India and Munjal Group of Companies and Enterprises in Technology Sector. Despite the demands, I continue to teach specialized (elective) courses in premium management colleges like XLRI and IIMs. These course, on Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, blends my venturing experience with theoretical foundations. Now, I am trying to expand the intervention to entrepreneurship development.
