Management School ESSCA
Professor Sengupta’s research, teaching and professional background primarily correspond to services marketing, international marketing and e-commerce domain. He obtained his PhD from Grenoble ecole de Management specialization in Marketing.
His research interests specifically are in international services marketing, e-commerce, complaint management, consumer behavior and cross-cultural research. His research has recently been published in various journals including International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services and Journal of Global Information Management. He has also presented his work in leading academic conferences including EMAC, Academy of Marketing Science, International Marketing Trends and AMA Frontiers in Service conference.
Professor Sengupta teaches several courses (in English) at ESSCA related to Marketing and e-commerce like Marketing strategy, Digital culture and innovation, Consumer behavior, International marketing in a digitized world, etc. He is also the national course coordinator for the third-year course of Marketing Strategy.
He has several years of professional work experience in market research, customer relationship management and e-business consulting with various multinational organizations in India and Europe.
Professor Sengupta serves the academic community through his reviewing activities with International Journal of Electronic Commerce and Journal of International Marketing,Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Service Theory and Practice as well as reviewing for premier marketing conferences like Academy of Marketing Science Annual conference and European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC).
