Rong Zhu is an Instructional Design and Technology Specialist at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.

Rong Zhu is an instructional designer with many years' experience in designing and developing online courses for undergraduate and graduate programs in various disciplines. She provides faculty/SMEs with instructional technology support and online pedagogy consultation. As an instructional designer at the School of Continuing Studies of Georgetown University, she works closely with faculty/SMEs on designing and developing online courses for non-credit and master of professional studies programs. She once served as the lead of the new course design and development team at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Online and worked on new course development and OER (Open Educational Resources) course redesigns. In addition to her instructional design work, she used to teach the Designing Rubrics and Providing Feedback workshop and the Preparing Student Learning Objectives workshop online at NOVA. Besides, she was also an online facilitator for the Applying the QM Rubric workshop of Quality Matters (QM). She believes that her role in teaching online is to facilitate effective learning by providing support and maintaining a friendly online environment. Rong Zhu received her M.Ed. Degree in educational technology from Texas A&M University, College Station.
