Before joining the Zicklin School in 1997, Dr. Ma was an assistant professor of Management Information Systems at the University of Delaware (1987-1994), and a visiting scholar/assistant professor of Information and Systems Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong (1994-1997). Prior to his graduate study at SUNY Buffalo (MBA, 1982) and New York University (Ph.D. in I.S., 1988) in U.S., he headed the sales department in Far Eastern Department Store, Inc. (1979-1980) and Lai-Lai Department Store, Inc., Taipei, Taiwan (1978-1979).

Dr. Ma’s research interest includes data warehouse and OLAP, workflow management systems, information retrieval, negotiation support systems, scenario management for mathematical programming systems, semantic data modeling support systems, and metagraph applications.
