Nancy Costikyan, MSW, LICSW, is Director of the Office of Work/Life at Harvard University and Lecturer on Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The Work/Life office supports Harvard’s recruitment and retention of a high performing workforce, the maintenance of a robust academic pipeline, and the well-being of a diverse community of staff and scholars. Nancy contributes to the development of Harvard’s workplace policies, strategy and special initiatives, and she administers a suite of work/life programs.
Trained as a clinical social worker, addiction specialist and organizational consultant, Nancy has worked as a senior clinician in the federal government and at Harvard University, and has served as a course director at the Division on Addictions at Harvard Medical School. She lectures nationally on both mental health and work/life issues, and most recently has expanded her focus to include mindfulness training in the workplace. Nancy is also the mother of 17 year old twin sons, who enjoy reminding her that she not quite yet a paragon of work/life balance.
