Biography
-
Marcus Zimmer has a Master’s Degree (German Diplom) in Psychology and Business Administration, both from the University of Saarbücken, Germany. He obtained his PhD from the Technische Universität München, Germany. Marcus examines buyer-seller relationships for complex offerings (e.g. business solutions) in B2B markets.
He is also interested in the interplay between a firm’s marketing strategies and the customer’s preferences and behavior in the context of high-tech products. Finally, Marcus researches digital strategies of Swiss manufacturing companies. Marcus predominantly uses primary data, which are – depending on the research question and the research design – of quantitative or qualitative nature. His teaching activities focus on empirical methods (e.g., the course Business Experimentation”) and B2B topics, mainly in the ETH MAS program.
In his spare time Marcus tries to use technology creatively, e.g. in photography, making movies and music.
