Biography

Imperial College London

Dr Lu Tian is currently a Lecturer in Sustainable Transport Technology in the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University. Dr Tian received her PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London in 2018. Her research interests include soot formation modelling in turbulent flames, modelling of combustion effects on turbulence closure, turbulent combustion simulations based on transported PDF method and hybrid RANS-LES.

Her PhD research was supported by Imperial College President's Scholarship. She was awarded the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Chinese Students Study Abroad in 2018 and selected as one of six finalists for Osborne Reynolds Award (the best PhD research in fluid mechanics in UK) in 2019. She also received her Master's degree from Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and was awarded National Scholarship for postgraduates in 2012.

A full PhD studentship (worldwide) is available at Loughborough University. Please contact Dr Tian via l.tian@lboro.ac.uk for details. Collaborations are welcome in any related area.
