Katja Kisseleva-Scherenberger is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. She obtained her PhD in Economics from ESMT Berlin in 2021, under supervision of Per Olsson (ESMT Berlin) and David T. Robinson (Duke University). Katja’s research interests lie at the intersection of entrepreneurship, financial accounting and finance. She is particularly interested in the role of financial information for the financing of early-stage innovative firms. She was a visiting PhD student at Stanford Graduate Business School in 2018.

Prior to the academic career, Katja served as Financial Services Consultant at PwC, where she audited banks and led several projects on implementation of new bank regulations. In her later appointment as an Assistant Manager at KPMG, she consulted publicly listed companies on accounting issues. She also founded a consulting company to advise startup companies on fundraising and valuation issues before starting the PhD program.
