Ivo Arnold

Ivo Arnold is Professor of Economics at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. He received his Master’s degree in Economics (with honors) from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam in 1988 where in 1996, he also obtained his PhD with a thesis on European monetary policy. He joined Nyenrode in 1994, where he currently teaches Managerial Economics and International Money and Finance. At Nyenrode, he received twelve outstanding teaching awards.

His main research interests are European monetary and financial integration, financial intermediation and economics education. His writings have been published in international journals including The Journal of Banking and Finance, The Journal of International Money and Finance,  International Finance, The European Journal of Political Economy and The Review of World Economics. He is a member of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM).

Ivo is also an active blogger and regular commentator on economic and financial issues in the media.

Other positions
From 2010 on, Ivo has been a Professor of Economic Education at Erasmus School of Economics. He is also Vice Dean at Erasmus School of Economics (since 2009) as well as Director of Education (since 2006). From 1988 to 1994, he was Assistant Professor at Erasmus Universiteit, first in the Department of Finance and later in the Department of Monetary Economics.
