Ian Catterall

Ian Catterall is a career banker and has worked in the industry for 40 years having started on the NatWest Graduate Program. The vast majority of that time has been spent in the world of Project Finance across a range of Energy and Infrastructure projects from both a debt and advisory perspective with transactions ranging from financing renewables to oil and gas to PPP including windfarms, private prisons and advising on transactions such as the BTC pipeline.

Ian has also worked on the other side of the lending table as a borrower having been the Director of Project Finance for PSEG Global, a US power developer for just under 3 years in the early 2000’s. This experience has given Ian a good perspective on the motivations and objectives of an equity investor.

Most recently Ian was a Managing Director and Head of Natural Resources Project Financing for EMEA at MUFG for 12 years before moving over to client coverage for the last few years as Head of Natural Resources Client Coverage for EMEA with global responsibility for clients such as bp, Glencore BHP and Vitol.
