Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

Dr. Teo Ho Pin Former Mayor, North West District Former Member of Parliament, Bukit Panjang Constituency

Dr. Teo Ho Pin was the Mayor of the North West District of Singapore (2001-2020), and the Member of Parliament for the Bukit Panjang Constituency (1996-2020). He was a legislator for 23 years since 1996. In addition to these roles, he also served as the Advisor to the Grassroots Organisations in Bukit Panjang Constituency (1996-2020). Having been involved in township and community development work for over 38 years, Dr. Teo had developed several key national projects and programmes to build a cohesive community. Dr. Teo was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at NUS in 2017 and a Visiting Professor at SUTD in 2020. His areas of expertise include politics, city and township management, community development, sustainable development, and smart facilities management. These appointments had afforded him the opportunity to continue contributing and sharing his experiences in township management and community development.
