Biography

Ron is an environmental and energy economist who is interested in studying a wide range of policy issues. Ron obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 2014 and joined the University of Manchester in the same year. He finished undergraduate studies in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as receiving a master degree from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) in 2009. His research interests can be categorized into two major topics: economic and environmental regulation on existing pollution sources, in particular power plants; as well as the impact of environmental regulation on productivity and trade flows, or known as the pollution haven effect. Other research topics include the economics of climate change and regulatory uncertainty.
