Asst Prof Lisak has joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Apr. 2016. He is jointly appointed by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI). He received his Master of Science Engineering degree in Chemical Technology from Poznań University of Technology (Poland) and his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Åbo Akademi University (Finland).

Dr. Lisak leads 2 research teams. These are the environmental materials & chemistry and waste management teams. The focus of the environmental materials & chemistry team is in development of novel environment friendly materials for application in sustainable environmental protection, e.g., pollution monitoring, green buildings technology, clean energy harvesting and conversion of CO2 to value- added green chemicals. The focus of the waste management team is in R&D in sustainable resources management via closing the waste loop and recycling, e.g., utilization of bottom ash in civil engineering, soil and sediment remediation, conversion of waste to energy via gasification of municipal solid wastes, and recovery of useful materials from wastes.

Dr. Lisak serves as the deputy director of Residues and Resource Reclamation Centre (R3C), which is a component of the NEWRI Ecosystem. R3C has some 40 researchers and aims is to be pre-eminent as an industry preferred center of excellence for use-inspired residues and resource reclamation research and translation in Singapore and the region.
