Biography
-
Francesca is a core member of Oxera’s Competition team and Behavioural Economics practice, and is also part of the Analytics team and Team Italy. She works on a range of competition and regulation projects in different sectors and countries. Francesca has extensive experience applying a combination of theoretical economics and analytical methods, including game theory and econometrics, to develop robust theories of harm and approaches to quantification.
Francesca regularly delivers economics training to clients in Oxera’s Utility Regulation course. Since the onset of the pandemic, she has been part of a small team that delivers behavioural economics webinars for clients. Francesca is also part of Oxera’s team that prepares discussion papers for, and participates in, the biannual Oxera Economics Council meeting in Brussels. This is a meeting of high-profile academics and competition policymakers, in which Oxera’s discussion papers are used as the basis for debates concerning developments in competition and how policy should respond to these developments.
Before joining Oxera, Francesca was awarded a distinction in her Masters in Economics from the University of Oxford. During her studies, she was a research assistant at the London School of Economics and at the University of Oxford. She also taught microeconomics and econometrics courses at the University of Oxford. Francesca continues to teach microeconomics to Oxford undergraduates as a Stipendiary Lecturer at Jesus College, Oxford.
