Esther T. Hu has taught a variety of courses at Boston University, including “Humanities 101″ (as Visiting Assistant Professor, CGS), “Victorian Literature” (WR 100 and WR 150), “Biblical Women and Other Heroines” (WR 100), and “Children’s Literature in the Elementary Classroom” (WR 202). She is currently teaching a WR 100 ESL course entitled, “Love, Friendship, Money, and Identity: Universal Themes in British and American Literature.”

Hu’s research interests include Victorian Trans-Pacific Studies (Missionaries and China), British Poetry and Religion, and Asian Studies. Publications include work on Christina Rossetti’s poetry and an English translation of Yang K’uei’s short story, “Mother Goose Gets Married” (in Taiwan Literature: English Translation Series).
