Biography
Wagner Graduate School of Public Service
Erika Goodman is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Working in a large healthcare system, Goodman was responsible for identifying ways to save the organization money and reduce nonessential services. The patient’s best interests were often overlooked. That is when Goodman decided it was time for career change. Fifteen years ago, she became a fundraiser for healthcare organizations that put the patient first. At the Children’s Health Fund, she was the Deputy Director of Development, securing corporate and foundation gifts at the $1 million level and above. Today, she is the Development Director for the American Liver Foundation, where she is working to diversify the organization’s $8 million revenue base. Her focus is on direct response fundraising, individual gifts and corporate sponsorship.
Goodman received her B.A. in English from Oberlin College and her MPA in Public Finance from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
