Dr. Dominique Morisano is a child, adolescent, and adult clinical psychologist. She completed her undergraduate training at Duke and Brown Universities, master’s and doctoral training in school and child clinical psychology at McGill University, and a combined postdoctoral fellowship in schizophrenia, adult clinical psychology, and addiction psychiatry at the University of Toronto and CAMH. Since completing her training she has served in a number of roles, including as Supervising Psychologist and research director at the Child and Family Institute in NYC (with Columbia University and St. Luke’s & Roosevelt Hospital Centre), Independent Scientist with the Provincial System Support and Aboriginal Engagement & Outreach units at CAMH, faculty in School and Clinical Child Psychology at OISE/University of Toronto, Evaluation consultant at Stella’s Place, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Erasmus University in the Netherlands, Faculty at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies (Faculty), and Senior Advisor of Mental Health Initiatives at WE/WE Charity. Recently, she completed a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research (CPTR) at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and worked for 1 year as Chief Psychologist (USA division) at Field Trip Health; in May 2021 she was promoted at Field Trip Health to Vice President of Therapeutic Growth & Innovation (global) and in December 2021 she transitioned to a Special Advisor role. Additionally, she is one of the principal organisers of an upcoming international non-profit psychedelics research conference: From Research to Reality: Global Summit on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Medicine (Toronto, ON, May 27-29, 2022), co-hosted by CAMH, MHCC, and CCSA.

She is currently spending the bulk of her time as an Independent Consultant in the psychedelic science, therapy, and industry space. Additionally, she has run a private clinical psychology practice since 2011, and has been consulting in mental health and addiction clinical research and evaluation since 2015.

Her research has focused on goals and motivation, addiction and mental health services, personality, implementation of best practices (implementation science) and the use of evidence, health service system improvements, research and publication ethics, and mindfulness. She currently holds a Visiting Scholar appointment at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University in the Netherlands, where she conducts research with the Erasmus Centre for Study and Career Success. She also maintains status academic appointments at the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH; Collaborator Scientist), University of Toronto (Adjunct Professor, Public Health), and University of Ottawa (Adjunct Professor, School of Psychology). She has taught graduate-level courses on Population Health, Addiction, Child and Family Therapy, Mental Health in the Schools, Theories and Techniques of Counselling, and given many lectures and workshops on various topics including implementation science, goal-setting, motivational interviewing, research and publication ethics, and self-care.
