Dirk Buyens's main research and teaching interest lies in human resources management. In a career spanning more than 25 years, he has published more than 100 articles in well-established magazines and has written several books and chapters on organisational development, career management and all aspects of management.

He helps students, executives and companies to bring out the best in themselves and their organisations through cutting-edge approaches to people management, career self-management and personal mastery. Dirk has taught and advised organisations including the Ministry of the Flemish Community, Umicore, BASF, Oracle, BNP Paribas Fortis, KBC, Federal Government (FOD), Beneo and ASAP nv. He was also identified as one of the most influential academic HR thinkers by Belgian business weekly, Trends.
