Biography

Academic interests:

I am interested in questions about how science, technology and innovation (STI) can help tackle large scale public challenges in contexts of scarce state resources and capabilities. I analyse organisational and institutional aspects, including but not limited to policy, that can shape STI to generate public outcomes. My studies are often at at the intersection of technology, higher education and public impact. My work contributes to the disciplines of public policy and administration and higher education. Teaching:

I have taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in topics related to education, public policy, research methods, and technology and society. I have conducted workshops on advanced topics for PhDs and early-career researchers. I also carry out research related to higher learning including technology-enabled teaching and learning and links between higher learning and work. See details in my publications and teaching pages.

Advising/Consulting:

I am open to engaging with non-profts/third sector and for-profit firms through consulting/advisory on how they can engage with governments and communities to enhance their societal or public impact. I am interested to work with higher education institutions on a variety of topics including stakeholder engagement, fundraising and strategy, and with firms and startups to craft their strategies and outcomes for industry-academia and govenment engagements. Background/Experience:

I obtained my Doctorate in Education from UCL Institute of Education, University College London. Prior to that, I obtained my MBA from University of Oxford, MS from University of California Berkeley, and B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. I was a visiting faculty at IIM Ahmedabad, a teaching fellow at UCL, and a faculty at the FLAME University, Pune, India. Before joining academia, I worked for 15 years with GE, Yahoo! and Indian School of Business (ISB). I worked at ISB as an Associate Director for ten years in its advancement function.
