Craig Savell

Craig Savell has been with Total Transportation since 1993. Craig’s leadership responsibilities include driving Total’s profitability and long-term position in the marketplace. With 22 years served at Total Transportation, Craig provides direction to all senior management within the corporation.

When Craig started his career at Total, we were operated with only 20 power units. During this time, there were very few employees and everyone was forced to wear multiple hats to ensure the company’s early success. Craig was quickly exposed to all aspects of the truckload industry, developing a tenacious work ethic to serve the driver & customer at a high level.

After a few years of trucking experience and continued growth, Craig was tasked with creating Total’s customer service department. As Craig built a foundation for a strong team and developed key customer relationships, the company experienced extreme growth in the mid 1990’s. By 1999, Total operated with 300 trucks and again, Craig was charged with generating additional service offerings.

In 2000, Craig formed the Total Logistics Group. The great relationships and processes built by the customer service department led to significant opportunities for Total to manage customers' freight with strategic outside carrier relationships. Craig was relentless in his efforts to build this team and service offering, being proud to say in present-day that Total Logistics operates in multiple locations and represents $20+ Million in Annual Revenue.

The proven success of building the customer service department and logistics group moved Craig Savell into the Director of Sales & Marketing role in the early 2000’s. Throughout his tenure in this new role, Total demonstrated consistent growth and reached 450 power units. Craig’s continued achievements promoted him to Vice President of Sales & Marketing and was quickly challenged with the recession of 2008.

From the recession to the current day, Craig Savell is credited with navigating Total’s customer base through one of the most challenging economic times in the country’s history. Under Craig’s leadership, Total diversified the customer portfolio and continued fleet growth by 2014 to 750 power units. With over 20 years of experience and proven success leading multiple areas of the company, Craig was then named as the Chief Operating Officer in August of 2013.

Craig holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a major in Logistics from Mississippi State University. Alumnus of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Craig is a local native of Mississippi, currently residing in Madison, MS. Natalie & Craig Savell were married in 1997, the proud parents of Kyle and Austin . Most weekends you can find the Savell family watching a college football game or enjoying one of their son's many sporting events.
