Chaw Sing is the co-founding Managing Director of NAMIC (National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster), a Singapore government initiative to catalyse innovation and scale industrial adoption of additive manufacturing technologies. Since its inception in late 2015, NAMIC has raised several millions in public-private funding to support various AM initiatives across several industry sectors. Before NAMIC, he was head of innovation and strategic partnerships at HP Singapore, Printing and Personal Systems Group, where he oversaw technology partner relationships, IP strategy, and strategic innovation initiatives for the Supplies Business. Prior to this, he was the global head for Consumer Inkjet Supplies Business operations, overseeing manufacturing supply chain operations and product innovation in HP. Chaw Sing started his career in the semiconductor industry with Chartered Semiconductor and Globalfoundries, where he undertook various leadership and customer-facing roles in technology development and engineering operations. He holds a doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor’s (honours) degree in Electrical Engineering majoring in Microelectronics from the National University of Singapore (NUS). An advocate for 3D Printing and its role in sustainability and the future economy, Chaw Sing has spoken in several forums and workshops. He is personally keen in nurturing deep tech start-ups, as well as advancing STEM education and engineering as a profession. As an appointed mentor under the GE Digital ASEAN Startup and Partner Accelerator Program, he works closely with start-ups from pre-seed/seed to late series stage. In his free time, he enjoys sports, movies, reading and spending time with his family.
