Biography
Kelley School of Business
I am an Assistant Professor in the Counseling & Educational Psychology department with an appointment in Human Development. I received my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Measurement, and Evaluation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
My research interests include psychological and contextual influences on the schooling experiences of historically marginalized and underrepresented students, particularly rural, Black, and LGBTQ+ students. More specifically, I am interested in how family and school contexts, and processes within these contexts, shape student motivation, performance, and persistence across high school and college.
I have received grant support from the American Educational Research Association, in conjunction with American Institutes for Research, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My work is published in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence, Research in Higher Education, and the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry.
