Carol-Ann is an Educator who possesses excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success. She’s been teaching in a variety of capacities since 1995. Currently she teaches Social Enterprise Development for Non Profits and Business Administration. She’s also a Professor at Fanshawe College, where she teaches Business Plans Applied. The course covers the Lean Start-Up, Business Model Generation and Business Plan Development. Prior to moving to London in 2011, she worked for the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto where she managed the Social Innovation & Innovation in Education practices.

When she started with MaRS in 2008, the field of Social Innovation and Social Enterprise was just developing. It was equally challenging to find ventures that were ready to scale, instead she had to help clients develop their ideas from an early stage, discourage those that were on the wrong track, and cultivate a spark of hope in those that had potential. She believes we’re in very exciting times as the field of Social Enterprise is flourishing.

Carol-Ann’s worked for 34 years in managerial, supervisory and training roles. She has experience with both not-for-profits and for-profits and she’s also a social entrepreneur. She’s a member of the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a Child and Youth worker having spent the early years of her career working the front lines with children/youth and their families.

Carol-Ann believes in life long learning and looks forward to sharing her vast experiences with you.
