Carla Januska

Adjunct Professor at Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Biography

Carla Januska has spent over twenty-five years designing experiences based on solid strategy, insights, and user-centered data for a wide variety of both B2B and B2C clients. Most notably, she has spent the past 10 years developing deep expertise using data visualization and information design. In 2013, Januska founded the design consultancy, Smart Hive, the first information design firm in the Twin Cities which focuses on telling stories with data to enhance brand, communications, and UX solutions.

Januska is a firm believer in user-focused, creative differentiation across multi-channel spaces. She helps clients communicate in new ways with new forms, building strong touchpoints for brands online, at home, in the office, and in store. I partner with agencies, businesses, and organizations that have complex brand, user, or communications problems to solve.

Januska currently serves as the president of the Minnesota chapter of AIGA, the national design association.
