Biography

NUS Institute of Systems Science

Vishnu Nanduri received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida with a focus on Reinforcement learning. For the better part of the last decade, he has led large AI/ML engagements and data-driven transformation initiatives in the industry. Most recently, he was a Director for AI at Accenture, where he was the Financial Services AI lead for Southeast Asia. Prior to Accenture, he was the Asia Head of Data & Analytics at Munich Reinsurance, Singapore, where he and his team led numerous AI/ML consulting engagements with top insurers across Southeast Asia, India, Japan, and Korea. He also worked as a Senior Manager for Predictive Analytics at Prudential Singapore and he has led large data science and engineering teams at organizations like IBM. He also serves as an InsurTech Mentor in the Plug and Play Accelerator in Singapore.

Prior to joining the industry, he spent several years in research and academia in the US. He was an Assistant professor in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has published numerous technical articles in top journals in IEEE and IIE.

He has designed and taught courses at PhD, Master's and Undergraduate levels in the US. Some of the courses he designed and taught spanned the domains of Statistical Analysis, Advanced Analytics, Game theory, Reinforcement Learning, and Stochastic Optimization. Additionally, he also led numerous corporate trainings in the industry related to data science and AI.
