Vijaya Subramanian

Vijaya C. Subramanian’s primary research interests are in the areas of Operations, Analytics and Supply chains with a focus on Healthcare, Agriculture, Food safety and security. She has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University (College Station), M.S from the University of Maryland (College Park) and a M.Sc, B.Sc (Physics) from Osmania University. Vijaya has taught Undergraduate, Master’s, Doctoral and Executive courses. She has been a faculty member and chairperson of the Master’s program (Finance and Business analytics) at the Madras School of Economics.

She was a Research Associate at the HEC School of Business, Paris. She has also led Product Development at Aggrigator, a Stanford incubated B2B Agri e-commerce start up and worked at the United Nations, New York in the area of Humanitarian Logistics.

She collaborates on a variety of research projects to support policy-making with organizations such as the Foundation for Medical Research, CDFI and IFMR LEAD.

She has published in journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Social Science and Medicine, and IEEE and has presented her research work at INFORMS and POMS.
