Biography

Tawei (David) Wang is currently an associate professor at DePaul University. Wang's research interests include information security management and IT management. His papers have appeared in several leading journals, including Information Systems Research, Accounting Horizons, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information and Management, Information Systems Journal, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Information Systems, among others. Wang has received several research awards and is currently the second most productive researcher in accounting information systems' archival research based on the Brigham Young University accounting researcher ranking. His articles have been downloaded more than 30,000 times through the Science Direct network.

At DePaul, Wang mainly teaches audit analytics and has been invited by universities and conferences around the world to discuss curriculum design and analytics teaching strategies. He is now on the Fulbright Specialist Roster for developing analytics curriculum for accounting/auditing programs. He was a speaker of analytics at a chief audit executive roundtable hosted by the Institute of Internal Auditors. He was also a speaker of cybersecurity and analytics at the 2019 American Accounting Association AIS Bootcamp, and was involved in the development of cybersecurity curriculum guidelines by Association for Computing Machinery. In 2018, Wang was selected to be the KPMG James Marwick Professor in Residence.

He actively serves in the professional community as a workshop/conference coordinator, reviewer, and editorial board member. In 2020, Wang will serve as the editor of the Journal of Information Systems as well as the president of the AAA Midwest Region.
