Biography

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

Stephanie is a Talent Development and L&D Executive with 20+ years experience working in a fast paced multinational environment. A key focus of her leadership is in leading strategy for organisational change through into implementation and she brings a specific interest for the impact of the organisational system on individuals, teams and cultures.

Stephanie has worked as an executive coach since 2008 and a coach supervisor since 2016 (as internal coach/ supervisor and in her own practice). She holds accreditations from both Ashridge Executive Education as well as the EMCC. Her practice is focused on relational coaching and transactional analysis and she brings a systemic lens to her work.

Her approach to organisational supervision is grounded in her education at Ashridge Business School. As described by Erik de Haan and Willemine Regouin (2017) she sees “supervision as the key platform for practitioners to connect what they learn in theory with what they learn and do in practice, and therefore as being at the core of all continuing professional development.”

As a supervisor she focuses on three main functions of supervision - with reference to Brigid Proctor’s well known description of restorative, formative and normative supervision (2008):

● To care for and help restore energy levels and focus for new coaching work (the ‘restorative’ element).
● To develop and learn new and more effective ways of executive coaching (the ‘formative’ element).
● To guard and protect professional excellence (the ‘normative’ element) and to ensure that supervisees are working to high ethical and professional standards.

As a coach and supervisor she sees herself as a partner to her clients working shoulder to shoulder in a co-creative environment. In dialogue she will reflect with her client on their work and co-create insight and meaning together.
