Stefan Tilch has been Professor of General Business Administration at the IU International University since October 2018. After studying political and social sciences at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Neubiberg and the University of Texas at Austin, Tilch received his doctorate in 2000 in economics on the European Central Bank. In 2005 he completed an international MBA course at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. In addition, he has held a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) degree since 2018.
After completing his doctorate, Tilch started his professional career at Commerzbank AG headquarters in Frankfurt a. M. as a trainee in international banking. There he worked for several years as a relationship manager for banks in the Middle East and North Africa region before becoming assistant to the board. He then switched to Treasury Bonds and worked at various Commerzbank subsidiaries. After a three-year stint as Chief Investment Officer for microfinance funds at the Frankfurt School of Finance, he worked as an asset manager and portfolio manager for more than six years.
