Biography

MIT Professional Education

Manager, trainer, facilitator, and connector of communities. Sher oversees and supports D-Lab's three main types of participatory design experiences: Creative Capacity Building Workshops, Co-Design Summits, and the Inclusive Innovation Professional Education courses.

She has the pleasure of working with MIT D-Lab staff and partner facilitators from around the world to develop, document, and deliver practical curriculum for diverse teams to co-create solutions to complex challenges and building up the design curriculum library.

Prior to this role, she was the program manager for the International Development Design Summits, where she oversaw organizing teams in the selection, design, implementation, and evaluation of each design summit. She has a passion for inviting community voices and local context to the design process and has experience team building, community building, and facilitating a variety of cross-cultural and participatory trainings across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. She is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Ethiopia (’09-’13) where a majority of her work focused on women’s empowerment, HIV/AIDS education, and peer support.
