Dr. Kant is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and an associate scientist at the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Womens Hospital.

Dr. Kant received his Ph.D. degree from Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany. Dr. Kant did his postdoctoral training at Howard Hughes Medical Institute under Dr. Roger Davis at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Kant was an assistant professor of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School before joining the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Womens Hospital.

Dr. Kant has authored several publications in high impact journals of Cell Reports, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Genes and Developments, and Nature Communications. Dr. Kant is a recognized expert in the stress signaling and its role in metabolism and cardiovascular biology. Dr. Kant has been an ad-hoc committee member on NIH and AHA grant review committees.
