Developed AI algorithms to extract information hidden in large clinic data sets for understanding the relationship between determinants and the diseases and for finally improving treatment effectiveness and preventing progression of diseases. Developed AI algorithms for human activity recognition using the wearable. Developed AI algorithms for a priority sorting system for brain scans for head injury patients.
I worked at the school of computer science and engineering, NTU, with prof. Jagath C Rajapakse. My current research work was related to the detection and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) at its early stage. We are working towards developing a method to construct a brain network using structural (MRI, DTI) data of AD patients. We developed some statistical and deep learning models for the classification of AD individuals. We developed a method for effective brain decoding by generating the feature relevance scores using a deep neural network. By using a recent feature selection method, we show that an empirically selected subset of connectivity features performs better than earlier used feature selection methods in classifying AD. We also worked toward possibilities of new methods in brain decoding such as DeepLift, integrated gradients, saliency map etc.
