Biography

-

I'm interested in how genetic sequences allow individuals and populations to develop and thrive. I am currently focused on understanding how repetitive sequences contribute to genome structure, function, and evolution. My research is largely computational and focused on evolution, population genetics, epigenetics, and genome dynamics, but my work and interests continue to be informed by my background in developmental genetics and cell biology. I am passionate about promoting scientific literacy and biology education.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Southeast Missouri State University.
