Born in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh in 1981, Ram Sevak Singh had his schooling in the same town and graduated in science in 2001 from Udai Pratap Autonomous College, Varanasi, securing a first class. After completing M.Tech. degree in the year 2008 with CGPA 9.27/ 10 in Materials Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, he pursued his doctoral programme in National University of Singapore ( NUS ) and obtained his Ph.D. Starting as a Research Assistant at NUS and Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2013, he became Asst. Professor in 2013, in National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.

Dr. Singh had a deep involvement in grapheme materials and photoconductive devices and was awarded the prestigious IETE - CEO ( 94 ) Award ( Biennial ) - 2014 in 2014 in India. His work on the nanomaterials that include graphene and hexagonal boron nitride and utilizing the materials into useful devices received considerable acclaim. Presently, he has involved himself in conducting research in chosen area of specialization, guiding M.Tech. students and teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level. Dr. Singh has so far published more than 10 papers in reputed international journals and conferences.

He has attended many national and international conferences and has organized one workshop and one short term course. Dr. Singh is a Member of Materials Research Society (Singapore) and Innovation Club of National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India. He has qualified for NET (JRF). Dr. Singh has also authored one book on Silver Nanoparticles and Antibacterial Activity.
