Biography

Mr. Rafael Rodriguez-Merencio has an LLM from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), a MA in European and Transatlantic Studies from the University of Bath (UK) and a degree in Law from the University of Navarra (Spain). He was trained as a Foreign Trade expert by the regional government of Andalucia (Spain) and has worked as a Company and Trust Consultant in Gibraltar and London. He is also a practicing lawyer in Spain where he has been the in-house lawyer of a real estate developing group in Costa del Sol, as well as advised foreign clients in private practice for their investments in Spain, Hungary and Morocco. He is currently general counsel of a multinational company in Switzerland. Rafael speaks Spanish, English and French and has also published several articles on political and legal issues in an American on-line journal and the Transnational Dispute Management magazine (TDM). Teaching the Customs Regulations & Trade Compliance module for the LL.M. in Cross-Cultural Business Practice (LL.M. in Compliance)
