Biography

A result oriented senior epidemiologist with over six (6) years of experience in investigating clinical, public health and real world evidence (RWE) studies in the UK, Canada and Middle East.

Specializing in

  • infectious and chronic diseases (CVD and oncology)
  • health protection and policy
  • pharmacovigilance and patient safety

Currently leading a RWE observational study to assess Oncotype DX Recurrence Score (RS) amongst hormone receptor positive early breast cancer patients, and managing over 16 in-house oncology studies across the TDR, DDR and Heme franchises.

Co-authored 11 scientific articles, all published in leading peer-reviewed journals and two bagging local awards under the category of "improvement in patient care".

My MPH dissertation assessed and evaluated the independent association of socio-demographic determinants and influenza vaccination uptake amongst 21,105 adults in California using the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) 2016. Furthermore, the study explored generational status as a predictor amongst the first and third-generation Asian minorities. The dissertation was awarded a distinction grade and has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Life Research.

Currently, working as an Associate Director Global Epidemiology-Oncology at AstraZeneca UK and Associate Lecturer at the University of Derby. Previously, worked as a senior epidemiologist in the Public Health Advice, Guidance and Expertise (PHAGE) team at Public Health England (PHE) supporting the national COVID-19 response.

I am passionate about improving population health through continued research and training the next generation of public health practitioners and epidemiologists.

In the future, I aspire to complete a PhD in epidemiology and an MBA.
