Zicklin School of Business

Professor Paula Walter, a full professor in the Law Department, has served the college in many capacities. Her field of professional expertise is in the area of health law and contracts law. Prof. Walter has authored and published scholarly articles with a focus on health care in peer reviewed law review and health law journals.

At the graduate level, she teaches the Health Law course – Legal Aspects of Health Care Administration, Law 9213 – in the MBA in Health Care Administration program. She developed that course and continues to update the course materials in response to the developing American health care environment. She, also, teaches the Contracts Law course – Fundamentals of Business Contracts, Law 1101 – to the Baruch undergraduates. In the Spring 2017 semester, Prof. Walter was asked to teach and develop a course – Shaping the Future of New York City, IDC 4001H – for the Macaulay Honors program. She teaches this seminar from the health care perspective, and she was requested to teach this seminar again in the Spring 2018 semester.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Prof. Walter has in the past served as the deputy chair of the Law Department and in Fall 2017, she will assume the role of course coordinator for the Law 1101 course – Fundamentals of Business Contracts – a mandatory course for the Zicklin undergraduate business student. Currently, she serves as a member of the Law Department’s Executive Committee.
