N. Venkiteswaran

Prof. N. Venkiteswaran, an economics graduate and a chartered accountant has been a Professor at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) from 1988 till his voluntary retirement in 2014. He continues to be a visiting faculty at IIMA as well as IIM, Jaipur. At IIMA Prof. Venkiteswaran has not only been teaching core courses in Strategic Management and Financial Management, but also specialised and highly acclaimed courses on Mergers, Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring, Company and Business Valuation and Corporate Governance.

Prof. Venkiteswaran currently serves as an Independent Director of Bharat Oman Refineries Limited. He had earlier served as an Independent Director on the boardof various companies such as of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Virgo Engineers Ltd., Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd.

Prof. Venkiteswaran served as a member of several government committees related to finance field. Some of the prominent ones amongst these were the Takeover Regulations Advisory Committee (TRAC) constituted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in 2009-10, Central Direct Taxes Advisory Committee by Finance Ministry during 2005-08, Study Group on Mutual Funds set up by Government of India way back in 1991 to evolve the regulatory framework for mutual funds in India.
