Misti Carter is an attorney-mediator with a doctoral degree in communication studies. She received her law degree from the University of Texas in Austin where she practiced as a litigator before returning to academia.

Misti obtained her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University with a focus on communication in healthcare. During her doctoral program, she was an Assistant Professor in the Humanities department at Texas A&M College of Medicine with a focus on communication skills and legal courses.

Misti Carter joined the Texas A&M Rural and Community Health Institute (ARCHI) in 2016. Misti is in her fourth year of lecturing in ARCHI’s KSTAR (Knowledge, Skills, Training, Assessment and Research) program. Her content expertise is in legal issues and communication. Misti has a private mediation practice, Hill Carter Law, PLLC, based in College Station, Texas.
