Mingfu Guan

Assistant Professor in Water and Environmental Engineering at The University of Hong Kong

Biography

-

Dr. Mingfu Guan is assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong with broad research interests in water-related natrual hazard modelling. His research has been directed towards finding out ways to build natural hazard resilience in the context of climate change. His research interests include computational hydraulics, urban and catchment hydrology, blue-green infrastructures, climate change and their modelling techniques. He has been awarded high-pretigeous UK EPSRC Fellowship in 2017, and is a member of UK EPSRC associate peer-review college. He has also successfully worked on a number of high-profile research projects funded by EPSRC, NERC and ERDF after he obtained his PhD degree in 2014 at University of Leeds. Prior to that, he spent 6 years in Dalian University of Technology to study hydraulic engineering and hydrology for BEng and Master Degree. To date, as a leading author, he has published over 20 journal and conference articles and served as an invited reviewer for NERC grants and 18 high prestigious SCI journals.
