Marjorie Tendero joined ESSCA in 2019 as an assistant professor in economics at the Management and Corporate Environment Department in Angers.

She is an economist: she holds a PhD in economics (Agrocampus Ouest) since May 2018. Her PhD thesis was supervised by Béatrice Plottu (Structures and Markets in Agriculture, Resources and Territories, Laboratory for Empirical Research in Economics) and co-supervised by Cécile Bazart (Center for Environmental Economics in Montpellier). Marjorie Tendero obtained a PhD thesis grant from the French environment and energy management agency (ADEME) and the “Pays de la Loire” region. Her PhD dissertation deals with brownfield redevelopment.

She implemented a participatory multi-criteria decision aid considering the numerous stakeholders involved at the various stages of brownfield redevelopment processes in order to assess the potential benefits arising from the redevelopment of such contaminated sites.

Several peer-reviewed papers have been published from his PhD dissertation; others are being submitted. Besides, Marjorie Tendero presents her results in national and international conferences and she also share them to the general public.

Her current research interests have broadened out to include the analyze of vacant housing in the socioecological transition. This work was initiated during her post-doctoral research carried out at the university of Burgundy.

At the academic level, Marjorie Tendero also holds a Master’s degree in health economics from the University Paris Dauphine (2014), a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics from the University of Montpellier and another Master’s degree in economic philosophy from the University of Aix-Marseille; all obtained with honors. Thus, she can conduct extensive researches on varied economic issues (mainly environmental) using complementary methods.

Marjorie Tendero teaches in the different programs offered: in the bachelor’s in management (digital economics), in the master of science in digital and big data for value (statistics and probability modelling) and in the “grande école programme” (quantitative methods). In this program, Marjorie Tendero also had the opportunity to teach microeconomics and macroeconomics to undergraduate students.
