Biography
Said Business School
Marine’s primary research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurial internationalisation in the digital age, as well as business model design and innovation.
Marine joined the International Business group at Saïd Business School as a Teaching Fellow, while completing her PhD at Imperial College Business School.
She is studying new venture internationalisation process in the context of digital ecosystem. Her work is aimed at shedding light on the content of internationalisation process and systematically outlining the role of digital technologies in shaping cross-border activities, whether it is a digital firm or a firm that offers physical products.
Research
In her current research, Marine is employing qualitative methods to study the internationalisation process of modern new ventures, as well as their business model design process. By following six new ventures for two years, she studies how the entrepreneurs design and modify their business models over time when addressing international markets. She also makes interdisciplinary connection between international business and information systems literature in order to understand the possible effects of digital technologies on internationalisation process and outcomes.
Furthermore, Marine is interested in market and non-market internationalisation strategies and particularly, in understanding how internationalising ventures manage their cross-border reputation and shape industry boundaries.
Engagement
Prior to joining academia, Marine has worked in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, where she provided pricing management and marketing analysis. In her research, Marine conducts empirical field research, and works closely with entrepreneurs and top managers of new ventures, as well as other stakeholders of entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as investors and board members.
Teaching
Marine is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, with an extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (including MSc, MBA, Global MBA, and Executive MBA programmes) at Imperial College Business School.
At Saïd Business School, Marine supports the International Business group in the development and delivery of its portfolio of courses on the School’s undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, Diploma, and Executive Education programmes.
