Maria Lagomarsino

Lecturer In Marketing Research at Université de Lausanne

Biography

Maria joined the Psychology of Sustainability and Behavior Change in June 2022 as postdoc researcher. Prior to this, Maria spent 3 years at the Consumer Decision and Sustainable Behavior Lab at the University of Geneva after receiving her PhD in Management at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland. As part of an interdisciplinary project with energy scientists at the University of Geneva, she is currently investigating individuals’ preferences in renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies as individuals play a key role for a successful energy transition.

Maria’s research agenda lays at the intersection of marketing, consumer behavior, consumer psychology, and environmental psychology. She has always been fascinated by human decisions and behaviors and the complex mechanism underpinning them. This interest has increased exponentially as she learned more about the environmental crisis we are living in and individuals’ difficulties in adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. For this reason, she is dedicating her research to addressing the difficult and urgent threat of ecological degradation by investigating decision-making mechanisms in the domain and behavioral intervention effectiveness.
