Marco Ortolina

Curious about people, culture, business, leadership and development, Marco is a polymath who has found his calling in coaching. Having changed career several times himself, Marco has had the privilege of leading teams across the UK, France and Italy. Marco studied at Milan’s renowned Università Bocconi, where he followed the marketing path through business school.

National service followed university; a stint at the Military Alpine School for Reserve Officers proved a life-changing experience. Not only did the service fuel Marco’s personal development, it opened his eyes to the fact that human beings are adaptable and capable of overcoming challenges using their inner reserves and that nothing is impossible. This optimistic attitude went with him into the marketing department of Unilever, first in Italy and then in France. The dynamic, international environment and ever-growing responsibilities provided a great deal of satisfaction. To this day, Marco loves to work with international teams, drawing on his own experiences and coaching others to innovate, lead and overcome adversity.

After nine successful years, his thirst for learning was too strong. Marco joined the marketing faculty of the Bocconi School of Management, taking on the dual role of professor and consultant. Marco thrives on challenge and making an immediate difference to others spurred him on. The coaching seed was planted…

Hungry to lead, to motivate and inspire in a different way and context, Marco joined the Medical Division of GE as a Marketing Director, later heading up a business unit as General Manager. His passion for helping others and his endless curiosity endow Marco with an enthusiasm which he brings to his coaching daily. Marco passionately believes in the power of people and it is his honour to work with them every day, not just to impact on their lives, but the people and businesses around them.
