Biography

Dr. Lin Li, Global Policy and Advocacy Director at WWF International since 2017. She leads the advocacy of WWF’s global positioning on biodiversity, mobilizing heads of state and government to elevate nature agenda, and promotion of SGDs in multilateral platforms.

From 2006 to 2017, Dr. Li was WWF China’s Deputy Chief Representative and Executive Program Director, in charge of strategy development, program implementation and policy advocacy. Her work covered promotion of environmental governance, green finance, deforestation free supply chain, sustainable trade and investment.

Prior to joining WWF China, she served as Senior Program Officer at WWF US, advocating for addition of new harmful chemicals to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.

Invited by China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, Dr. Li served as international experts and co-chair to various of Special Policy Studies to provide advice and recommendations to Chinese government on trade, investment, biodiversity and South-South cooperation.

Dr. Li gained Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees from Beijing Institute of Technology, China, Lund University, Sweden, and University of Massachusetts, USA , respectively.
